The 5 most common cold chain monitoring mistakes

The cold chain means keeping a product within a specific temperature range from the moment it is produced until it reaches the consumer. These are the mistakes we see most often in the field:

  1. Relying on handwritten logs. Values written down twice a day do not show deviations in the hours in between.
  2. Putting the sensor in the wrong place. A sensor placed in front of the evaporator measures the cooler’s outlet air, not the room.
  3. Sending the alarm to a single person. If that person is asleep or on leave, the alarm reaches nobody.
  4. Forgetting calibration. Measurements from an uncalibrated device may not be accepted during an audit.
  5. Not allowing for power cuts. Systems without batteries go silent at the most critical moment.

A monitoring system that logs automatically and continuously eliminates all of these mistakes.
